Engine problem

My 1997 buick century would not start. It turns over, but still would not start.

Now the car starts up no problem.

my engine light has been on, for an EGR valve, but the car ran fine.

Well its either fuel or spark. You will need to check fuel psi when this is going on and also put a spark tester on the plug and see if you have spark. Sounds like fuel pump or mabey the crank shaft poss sensor. Hope this helps
