Car Stalls

1996 Mitsubishi Galant stalls when put into gear. It starts fine, but stalls when put into reverse or drive. I believe the a/c belt broke a week ago.

Make sure the serp belt is still attached. Also, make sure the "AC Belt" only runs the AC. As far as the engine stall, an ac belt won't cause that. If the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned to identify where the problem is coming from. Also, check to make sure there are no vacuum leaks. Check idle air control valve.
