My 1996 gmc suruban when running shifter will not move but I cut truck off trun swicth about half way the shifter will move. But when I crank the truck up in netural then put shifter in park the shifter will not move no more.
i need help.

Make sure the brake lights are working. If they are not, replace / check the brake light switch. Also, check the park lock solenoid to make sure it is disengaging the system. The power comes from the brake light switch. That is why I said to see if the brake lights are working.
