ASD Fuse Blowing?

Hi,

That little of voltage won't turn the test lamp on. Now, is that the green/orange wire? Also, if the fuse is removed, no power will be present. I looked at your last pic and see the green/orange wire. Is that broken?

Yes, it is a green/orange wire, identical to the ones on the fuel injectors. It leads to nowhere, could that have been to the o2 sensor on the exhaust?

Thanks.

Hi,

As far as the green/orange wire, that certainly could go to the oxygen sensors. If you check at the sensors, do you see any cut wires?

I attached the entire powertrain management wiring schematic below, so you have a reference. I highlighted the green/orange wire throughout the circuit.

Take a look and let me know if this helps.

Take care,

joe

Thanks for highlighting those for me. That helps a lot.

If I have that wire in a position to where it isn't touching anything to ground out and the light is staying on does that mean it still could be something else causing the fuse to blow?

Hi,

If preventing the wire from touching ground allows the fuse to be good and the fuse fails when it does touch ground, I feel that is the issue. Is that what is happening?

Let me know.

Hello,

I think it's fixed, I cleaned up all those wires and made sure they wouldn't be grounding out and I drove it about 10 miles around the area and ran like she used to.

The guy before that had it, had the ABS relay out so I disconnected the wires that ran to the rear pumpkin, I don't know if that's a good or bad thing but it ran fine it seemed.

Thanks for all the help! I hope you have a great 2023!

Hi,

Thanks for the update. If the fuse hasn't failed, it sounds like you fixed the issue. Wiring can be a nightmare, so good job.

As far as the wiring to the rear axle, are you referring to the ABS wiring? If the relay is out, that is fine and won't make a difference. Just know that you now have traditional non-ABS brakes. LOL

Take care of yourself and feel free to come back anytime in the future. And I wish you a good 2023 as well.
