The gear shift linkages have been damaged and you need to have it replaced.

The difficulty in engaging gears is a separate problem and this the clutch. So apart from getting the clutch replaced, you would need to have the gear linkages replaced as well.

The gear shift linkage is what holds the gear stick in place? Its kinda weird it was made of plastic. We took it to an auto parys store and they didnt know what it was called. Do you know where I can buy both the linkage and clutch? No one carries parys for my car.

The damaged part should be the gear lever housing and your best bet would be the salvage yard, but don't get you hopes too high. That is the problem with a manufacturer that has gone MIA.

For the clutch, you might try looking for compatible replacement for other makes such as Hyundai etc. Parts shops might be able to help on this.
