I have a 95 pontiac firebird with a 3.4l manual tran. Car starts once every 10-15 trys, it runs like crap for a minute or two backfires, and then stalls out, the ignition is dinging with or without key even when it runs. We have done timing chain, computer, all sensors including knock sensor, relay box ignition module, all fluids, plugs, wires, battery. Im out of options need any suggestions. Been workin on this car for 3 and a half months. I gotta get it started. Thank you

If you have done all of those things, then it could be your VATS system giving out. You may need to bypass it. Does your dash display a "Security Light"? If it does then that could be it. I don't want to give you information that might ruin your security system, but there are many write-ups on these VATS Systems, just google it, I suggest doing EXTENSIVE research if you are going ahead with this because of the box being tied in with the key, then again you can just buy a vats box and do the Resistor trick to bypass the key to the box. I have the same car, except its an Automatic. I also have the same problem, The wiring in my car is so messed up, that I have to kick the lump of wires under the dash while turning the key just to get it started because of the vats system (previous owner messed with the wiring). As for the backfiring, recheck the timing, or could be the coils. Good Luck
