What do you mean you checked belt? You checked timing marks?

After the car switched off on the road the swing of the engine seems a bit faster so I checked to see if the belt did not get cut off by pulling of the plastic cover on the side that cover the belt. I Did not check the marks cause there should be no reason why the timing should off jumped
