The fuel pump went out and we had a new fuel pump put in. When we went to put gas in the car, when you put the nozzle in and started pumping the gas it would gurgle and then spit it back out on the first squeeze and then after that we had to hold the pump handle and just pump it a little at a time. Because the gas pump just kept kicking off every few seconds like it does when you have filled up and no more gas can fit. As the gas goes down you can hear it gurgling and making noises. It took me about 10 minutes to put $20 worth of gas in the car because the pump keeps kicking off like the tank is full. But the car was only about an 1/8 full when we started putting gas in it. Any help on why or what could be causing this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If this did not do it before your repair, check to see if you trapped an evap line against the body.

Iif the problem existed, then you have a vent valve stuck closed
