My truck will start if I spray starter fluid in it but will turn off as soon as the truck burns the fluid, What could be wrong and how could I fix this? The truck has been sitting for a few years now.

DO YOU HAVE FUEL PRESSURE. IF YOU DO I WOULD DRAIN OUT THE OLD GAS REPLACE WITH NEW AND RETRY TO START IT OLD FUEL CAN GUM UP THE PUMP AND FILTER

You need to verify power to the pump. If you do, then yes, replace the pump and as suggested, drain the tank and start with fresh fuel
