I have a 1983 v6 s10 and I jus dropped a new battery in it but it doesnt want to turn over what could be wrong?

Is it cranking over and will not start or just won't crank over at all/nothing when you turn key to cranking position? Let me know

The starter cjus clicks once and thats all but if I give it a super charge to the battery it starts

Load test the battery to check its condition if it passes -bench test the starter motor or try shorting out the starter motor solenoid and see if it engages the engine
