There is smoke coming from the engine?

Hi. I recently brought a car off someone whos died. The family member who sold me the car said the guy always took care of it. It runs but im not really driving it because I want to get it fixed up. But when I start the car and open fhe hood. The theres smoke coming from the engine. Like its burning oil or something what does that mean

That could be from many things. It could be oil or coolant burning from a leak, an exhaust leak, wire or other item melting. Does it have a specific smell to it?

It sounds like the valve cover are leaking which is common, here is a guide to help you find the oil leak.

Here is how to change out the valve cover gaskets in case you need it. Check out the images (below). Let us know what you find.
