My 1st, 2nd and D4 gears will not let my automatic car accelerate past 30-40 mph. What could be the problem?

I have an automatic Honda Accord 94. The car won't accelerate past 30-40 mph in the 1st, 2nd, and D4 gears. But when it is in D3, it drives fine. What could be the problem?

This will have to be checked first hand by a mechanic or a trans specialist, there will have to be a few tests done with line pressures and this is something that you will not be able to do at home.
