GMC Suburban engine quits

1994 GMC suburban 4wd 5.7 L. Car quits randomly. Gages (speedometer, etc.) Randomly operate erratically. Usually just before the engine quits. Battery is good. When the engine is running, ammeter indicates alternator is good. It usually only happens when its cold.

How long since a tune-up? Any applicable mil codes? If it only stalls at idle, clean the throttle-body and check the iac. You have to test when problem is ongoing. Intermittent issues can be hard to track down.
