I have a 1994 Chevy Caprice Classic (LT1). After about 20 minutes of running it will get sluggish and not want to go. It will eventually just stop going at all until it cools down. Do I need a transmission?

Does your transmission slip while you are driving it? By the way I think a Caprice Classic has a V8 LT1. You will need to check the level of automatic transmission fluid to see if it is up to normal. Also check the motor oil, and coolant.

The transmission does not slip. It runs great until the motor gets hot then you can give it gas and it doesn't want to go. I have checked all the fluids. Sorry, you were right about the V8.
