Car dies when slowning down

I am buying a 94 325i and has a newer engine and has a turbo. When pressing on the throttle the car wants to die but the more throttle given it catches itself and drives fine. When you go to slow down and around 1k rpm the car dies. I am guessing it is the o2 sensor or something of that nature.
