Speedometer is not working

What causes the speedometer needle to go up on the dial when I start the car, not even moving yet?

More than likely this is a speed sensor issue or the cluster.

Basically, what is happening is the cluster is getting the signal to move the needle even though the vehicle is not moving.

This is normally always the vehicle speed sensor.

So, we need to check the voltage and see if the speed sensor is sending the signal even though it is not moving.

Once we know if the sensor is sending the signal, then we will know what direction to take.
