I have a question regarding when the cooling fan is supposed to come on. My car experienced a one-time problem when the temperature rose to ¾ mark. I pull over and shut off the engine. I immediately started the car and the gauge return to normal half way mark. Now I am noticing the cooling fan turns on for a few second and shuts off when I have the AC unit on. The temperature gauge goes a little above the half way mark but comes back down. It has the same symptoms when the AC unit is off; the cooling fan will come on for a few second and then will turn off. When bought the car the cooling fan was always running when the AC was on. What component(s) is failing and needs to be replaced?
The water pump and radiator has been replaced 3 years ago.

Thank you for your time and consideration

The fan is used for 2 purposes, when the AC needs it and when it's needed for cooling. The AC portion of it is regulated by pressure so you probably need to have the AC system tested to determine if the refrigerant level and pressures are correct.
