I have a 1993 jeep cherokee with a 4.0 engine, when in park the fuel gauge works fine and runs great, as soon as I put it in gear the fuel guage drops to empty and the engine dies, driving or not, any thoughts?

My first thought was the neutral switch? Located on the tranny.

Fuel pressure should be at 35 lbs. Dead head the fuel rail. Take one of the fuel line off the fuel rail, and plug the nipple on the fuel rail with your thumb, (while haveing a fuel pressure guage on the test head, (looks like a valve stem) on the fuel rail. If your fuel pressure guage jumps way up, your pump is fine, I just went through all that myself last week
