Hello super mechanic We are in the glades and it is now summer. Ya-Hooooo

#1 with gear selector in 1st gear the vehicle is very strong. With gear selector in second gear it is strong. With gear selector in drive you can barely feel a tug on the drive train. The weird thing is that it was running and shifting really well and this problem came from nowhere. No warning like slippage or nothing,

#2 does this truck shift by vacuum or electronic.

It is my daughters first vehicle. She will be allowed to drive in two weeks. This has her freaked out and we don't have the cash to go get another tranny or rebuild it ourselves.

#3 off the top of your head, what is the average cost to rebuild it in my shop?

wayne 863-673-0767 call if you can I will talk to my wife about donation but not this go around

If you re going to attempt yourself it will be a couple of hundred dollars for a kit but you need spring compressors to change piston seals and it may be electrical anyhow so have it scanned first if you can find a place that has stuff to do that for a vehicle that old. Check fluid if dark brown or black then just tear the trans apart as it's shot.
