I have a 1993 dodge shadow es automatic transmission. When I first start it up it shifts fine through all gears. After about 10 to 15 minutes its like its in neautral it doesnt go into any gears. I can let it sit a couple hours and its working again. Is the pump going out in the transmission? If so where is it located?

More than likely this is pump/pressure related. It may not be the pump itself, but it could be a cut seal that opens up when the fluid gets hot.

We need to start by checking the fluid and see what the condition is and if it is low.

Next, we need to check the line pressure and find out if we have low pressure or if we have a leaking seal. If the pressure is correct, then we can assume we are going to have to tear the unit down and inspect/rebuild it.

Please see the attached and let me know what questions you have, and we can go from there.

Thanks
