93 Chevy Suburban has battery power and gas but wont turn on

I have a 93 chevy suburban and just overnught it wouldnt start it has gas the lights and radio turn on it has a new fuel pump installed in feb 2010 I dont hear the pump turn on and sometimes it will start right up and sometimes it wont and we tapped on the gas tank and it turned on what seems to be the problem?

If you have to tap it to get it started -check and test the fuel pump and wiring

Does the starter crank ok? Use a gage and check fuel pressure. If you can get pump to work by tapping on the tank, sounds like fuel pump issue?
