I have a 93 chevy cavalier z24 with a 3.1L and I was wondering when my engine gets hot it loses power and the temp gauge fluctuates when its hot? I already changed the temp. Sensor on this date 10-07-12, I put a new thermostat on this date: 4-08-11
i checked the coolant level and it full, I put new catalytic converter on this date:2-20-10, could it be the catalytic converter plugging up?

Start with a leak down test for head gaskets. This failure is a result of overheating not the cause. You need to find the leak and get it attended to right away
