I need to know the proper timing reading. I bought it from a friend. They said its out of time but it starts perfect. Runs but wont go over 2500 rpms. Once it hits 2500 rpms its falls out. Tried to drive it it falls out on its own power lil after 20 mpg. Please give me ideas. Gotta take it to a garage to get a diagnose but im tryin to get ideas before I do that.

I'm more of a CJ guy!

Is this a 4.0 with automatic transmission?

I'm a little slow, but I think I can get your specs from Mitchell I, when you verify this info

Now that you own the Jeep, and DIY is your thing, this is something you should look into, I have been DIYing forever!

I went into Mitchell one, there are no charts on moving the distributor or tuning anything, this is what I found out

You know this ain't no fun, if the computer does everything for you!

You really should still get you a repair manual of some sort, this would help you when you cannot get to the computer, keep it in your Jeep all the time. Later on you will thank me!

Let me know if there's anything else you need ( like a CJ!)

I will try

IT'S ALSO CALLED . Com AS WELL AS MITCHELL I

IT'S A "PAY" ONLINE REPAIR MANUAL GEARED TOWARD MECHANICS---IF I'M NOT WRONG, I THINK IT'S LIKE $1200+ A YEAR----WE HAVE ACCESS AS A "SPIFF" FROM 2CARPROS, MAINLY TO PROVIDE DIAGRAMS TO ALL YA'LL

WITHOUT ANY FORMMAL TRAINING (LIKE TECH SCHOOL) IT'S VERY CONFUSING FOR ME TO FIND STUFF IN IT.I LIKE A FACTORY PAPER MANUAL 1ST, THEN CHILTON'S OR HAYNE'S NEXT---THAT'S WHAT I DO FOR MY VEHICLES AND IF I'M HELPING A FRIEND, AND I NEED MORE INFO--I MAKE THEM BUY THEMSELVES A MANUAL!

UP ABOVE IN THE LINK, YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN PART OF MY COLLECTION. MOST OF MY TRAINING WAS WITH THOSE BOOKS AND HANDS ON. JEEP CJs ARE MY THING, I'M A DIYer MYSELF. A PLUMBER BY TRADE AT THE PRESENT. YOU DON'T HAVE TO "LOG ON", WORRY ABOUT THE NET GOING DOWN, USE IT ANYWHERE, $30 OR SO, AND IT'S YOURS, KEEP IT IN YOUR RIG FOR EMERGENCIES---ALL OF THESE ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF A PAPER MANUAL
