1992 Jaguar XJS engine does not start

Parked my car, nothing unusual, running great. Came back 3 hours later and the engine does not start, I do not hear the starter clicking or see the the voltage going down, it shows about 12 volts, the battery is about 3 years old, before, shaking the transmission lever fixed it but this time, even after shorting the micro switch, still nothing. Greatly appreciate your help

Check battery for condition including load test. Then check starter relay in right front component panel. Also try resetting your security system if no manual look online. There is also an inline fuse for security it is a brown/wht wire by battery.
