Also - the 92 Chev Silveratdo 5.7L has two water temp sensors.
One goes to the dash visible gage; and the other goes to the computer. If it goes 'bad' the vehicle will not start or run; and this usually does not code either.
I know, since I drove to my Mom's for Mother's day one time; and then my truck would not start when I eventually tried to leave. Had to have it towed. $5 part; 5 minute replacement; and voila - truck starts. I couldn't believe it.
