What could cause my car to lose power around 2000 RPMs

Always after I drive a while, car drives fine then suddenly engine kinda hesitates and makes a weird noise. When I hit gas pedal it accelerates and straightens out, also when I'm at a stop I accelerate and rpm gauge gets kinda stuck at 2000 and seems like car doesn't want to shift gears. But car drives fine 95% of time?

Hi
I would irst have your tcc solinoid checked at a transmission shop. This is torque convertor lock out switch. It;s sole purpose in life is to lock up your torque convertor at highway speeds to reduce slippage and improve fuel mileage.

However when this sensor fails it tends to not shift back into lower gears at lower speeds. Which will cause your car to want to take off in a higher gear, which it cannot do
