1991 Chevy Lumina 3.1 V6

Vehicle has 260K on it, when started hot weather or cold it has a high idle starts out @ a 1,000 RPM & continues to increase up to as high 3,000 RPM's unit will not idle down even after driving awhile, have replaced EGR & idle air control module but it didn't fix the problem, need help please.

It's not the cruise control having a problem? Check for applicable mil codes. Block off the mouth of throttle-body, see if any effect on idle, should be a big effect. If no effect, your getting false air in there from somewhere.

Clean the throttle-body, clean the iac/idle air control.
