1990 740 Volvo non-Turbo engine keeps shutting off. If I let sit for 30 minutes or more will start back up. What is causing this?

Where is the ignition module located? And do you think maybe it could be the fuel pump? Thanks!

Under left side of dash, above steering column.

Could also be a bad relay.

So the first thing I should change in the Iginition Module, then the Relay? Then if problem still exists should I do Fuel Pump? Thanks, Kris

Check relay first, when ign. It turned on it should click.

NEVER replace a fuel pump unless you confirm low pressure with a mechanical gauge.

The symptoms you dscribe are classic to an ignition module.
