I have recently replaced my instrument cluster since my speedometer was broken. (Replaced the VSS first, nothing happened). I picked up a used instrument cluster at the local auto salvage for cheap. Speedometer works fine now, but my old odometer which I put into the "new" cluster unit is going about twice as fast as it should be! I wish I could go 1200km on a tank of gas! Is the odometer calibrated to a specific cluster? Would switching all the instruments back to the old cluster help?
Kind regards,
Rob

Are both meter cluster similar? An MPH and KPH meter would have different speed for the odometer.

The main controlling item would be the printed circuit board and if you are able o transfer the speedometer to the original cluster, it should work correctly.

Yes both clusters are similar (KPH). I still have the original cluster and will put the speedo and odometer back on that one! Should be no problem, just the time it takes to do all that. Thank you! I thought they would be totally interchangeable. We will find out after the weekend when I have some time. Regards,
ROBERT

There are different manufacturer for the meter cluster, ensure both have the same manufacturer printed on the face of the speedometer.

By right they should be interchangeable, but sometime for different trims or country specs, they might differ.
