CAR NOT SHOWING IT IS IN PARK. RED p LITE DOES NOT ALWAYS SHOW. THEN CAN'T GET KEY OUT. IF I SHIFT TO NEUTRAL WITH RELEASE LOCK KEY THEN CAN START CAR. WHAT IS CAUSING THIS?
If I don't do this, when start car from park there is no crank but all dash lites, etc are on.1990 acura integra. Thank you! Andream

The Park Neutral Position switch or its wiring circuit is bad resulting in the P indicator light not working.

When this circuit is bad, the interlock system would not work correctly and you would not be able to remove the ignition key as it is not being informed by the PNP that gear shift is in park.

Try readjusting the PNP and retest. It could also be due to a faulty wiring circuit of the Park circuit.
