hello, when I go to come to a stop or slow down and I push the clutch in my idle starts to fluxuate between 500 and 1500 consistantly my friend checked for leaks but didnt find any, it doesnt do it when I start it up it seems to do it after I drive a little ways and no one can seem to find the problem what do you think it could be

Hi larrissanelson,

If you have not checked the following, try them.

1. Fast idle valve. Should be fully closed after engine heats up. Could be open if it has worked itself out of adkustment. Checked foe clogged coolant hoses through it.

2. If coolant level is low, this woud happen.

3. Stuck open thermostat. Engine is running below operating temperature.

4. Idle speed out of adjustment.

5. Check the brake booster for vacumn leakages.
