"Inherited" a 1989 Camry that is a bit slow to start but once started it will idle good but once I put into gear and try to drive away it will cut off. Not every stop but very frequent and seems a little worse on hills. Friend said acts like its flooding itself out and we have checked fuel pump, wires, plugs, distributor, changed the "mass flow sensor", did fuel treatments but no improvement. Battery, starter etc is good just cuts off when I try to take off from a stop. What could this be?
Thank you!

I've seen a couple of the older Camrys act that way with a bad Coolant temp sensor. You would have to look at the sensor data in a scan tool to see if it is accurate or not.
