1989 Pontiac 6000 LE best adhesive got re-gluing head liner

1989 Pontiac 6000 LE, mileage: 160,000. What is the best adhesive to use for re-gluing the interior roof liner? We used 3M spray adhesive and it did not work.

Some headliners deteriorate completely and no adhesive will stick because the base just falls away. It the headliner material is solid you can do a quality repair. We do not have the 3M-product number and 3M makes quite a few different types of adhesives for various materials. We have used 3M adhesive to glue headliners in the past and it works quite well. Don't use too much adhesive or you will be replacing the headliner anyway.
