I have no spark. I have replaced the coil and the crank angle sensor, the ECU gives a code 21 the book says it's the ignition signal, I need to know what what would cause that and how can I fix it.

Hello,

check this guide out of checking and fixing a no spark issue. Refer to chart for diagnostic procedures as well.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what you find.

My truck won't start. I have replaced the distributor cap & rotor, spark plugs (in the correct sequence), 1 ignition coil. It still won't start. No spark or fire. Can you help me with this? Any suggestions?

Check the reluctor ans stator air gap and if voltage is correct to the coil do a ground test on the IC ignition unit

My truck has been sitting for 2 years and when it was parked it did run and the battery was left while it was sitting and my question is now that I have replaced the transmission I no longer get it to spark so do you think that the problem is the distrubutor or possilbley something else? How would you suggest testing the distributor before I purchase a new one, so that I don't waste my money, if you think that may be the problem?

Thanx for providing this service and for being there for all of us,

James

P.S. I can not offer you a donation at this time, but once I am able if I can be furnished with the Tech's name I will provide one in the near future.

Get a starting fluid or ether and spray into the carb or the throttle body on an EFI. Did it start and die? If not disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors- Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it

I installed a new alternator and started the truck. It started right up and the voltage lite was between 12 and 14 volts and the battery lite went out. I left it running for about 5 minutes and shut it down. I took it off the jack stands started it again and it ran. I put it in reverse and it chugged and died. Now it will not even turn over- no clicking or anything. The lights work bright and the ignition bell dings but it won't turn over. The radio does not work either. What could it be?

I want you to check for power at the green fusible link before and after it. Then check the black and red at the starter solenoid and report back your findings.

Check for power going to the coils I/E, Remove the coil Intake wire from the distributor ground it and crank it over, do you have spark?

Fast fix if you got 12volts at the coil Positive terminal on both and spark don't come out at the coil high tension wire replace the IC ignition unit in the distributor

Hope this help
