Revs high when first started and after a minute she revs herself down

Continued from above: after a minute she revs down nicely.
I've checked for vacuum leaks and have found none.I nstalled a new IAC and it is working properly(getting power, moving, etc.)I sprayed some carb cleaner into the carb also.
The day that I replaced the IAC, the truck stayed running when shifted into gear as I went for a short ride around the block. An hour later, I went out to check it and its doing the same thing again.
What is causing my poor baby to stall when shifted into gear?

Recheck the IAC. Also, when it stalls, does it feel like it jumps into gear or does it just stall like you shut the key?

It feels like I just shut off the key.I can feel it go into gear and then it just stalls.I will take your advice and recheck the IAC after work today. Its driving me crazy or rather its NOT driving me crazy : )

It's interesting that the day you replaced the IAC it worked a few times. Double check the wiring to it for damage or excessive resistance in the wiring.
