I have a 1986 volvo 2.3 nonturbo. It has no fire to the spark plugs and no fuel to the engine. It was driving fine, when I turned it off it would not start up again

Do you hear the fuel pump come On when you turn key on? If not check fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay if so, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light.

No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it.

My 1986 740 had same. Issue after some diagnostics of the hall sensor on distributor, the ignition control module next to air box and coil, it ended up being my ICU underneath driver side dash small black box that controls all I stated above. Purchased a used one on eBay and car started right up.
