Back fired when driving home. Relly loud. Shut off will not start. Pistons are going up n down. Timeing chain nt broke. Why won't it start. It trys but its very rough and will not turn over and stay on. And its it smart to take out 250 straight inline 6 for a 350 long motor. Will they match up totally fine. Do u think the 350 be to hard on tranny

You can replace it with a 350 you will need to do some rewiring to make things work. If this is a 6 then it's a gear not a chain and they break. Check compression if all are low the gear probably broke. Check dist cap for cracks and see if coil plug is broken and not hitting rotor, they do that occasionally. Check pick up coi for resistance as well. Youmight also have to put a vacuum line to trans unless it's a 250 trans. Make sure you have compression fuel and spark.
