My car wont start after running out of gas. Then I put gas in it and still wont start. Should I put a squirt of gas in the carb?

Check fuel pump pressure. Many times the fuel pump will pick up dirt from the bottom of the tank and clog or clog the fuel filter. Make sure it is getting spark too.
