I have the car listed above, non-turbo that will lose engine power randomly. It will start right up, and it could run smoothly for a short trip or it could immediately lose engine power. I believe it is cylinders two and three that stop firing (p0300) and the p2305 code is "insufficient ionization on side b of the coil". If you turn the car off then back on, sometimes the problem goes away, but it eventually happens again. The spark plugs, cables, and ignition coil have all been replaced. My mechanic said the PCM may have a short.

Good afternoon.

The first thing I would do is a compression test and a fuel pump pressure test. Fuel pump is common issue for the 300 code.

As far as the PCM? Nope, that is an expensive guess on your dime that most likely is not the issue.

I will see if my mechanic has the appropriate gauges and get back to you as soon as I can. Pretty sure he has them. Thanks for the reply.
