Hi,
I haven't seen my poor Jetta in 5 months :( It started with the water pump going bad. I took it to someone to fix and asked that they change the water pump and the timing belt at the same time. Well, they put the timing belt on incorrectly and blew the head. Took it to another garage, because the original one couldn't fix it. 2nd garage couldn't fix it, so they brought it to a VW dealership who couldn't fix it either. Problem that are still going on with my car is the cam shaft timing is off and the car doesn't run properly. It will start like 9 times in a row, but then on the 10th time they try to start it, the engine just keeps turning over. Wierd thing is, the car runs ok if the check engine lite is on, but not when they turn it off. They originally thought the oil pressure was bad in my car, turned out to be a bad wire. I've had the fuel pump changed, the water pump, the timing belt, the head, the oil pan. Has anyone ever heard of something like this happening? Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! I want my car back :(

Never heard of anything like that happening. I did though have a head blown out on my 2000 camry. It was not as costly for me as I had friends work on it. BUT eventually sold the car for a 01 Jetta. What you need is to probably get a new head. HAVE A PRO INSTALL IT! New gaskets etc.

Take it to a VW Pro. Not necessarily the dealer.

Not much help to you, I am sorry

GOOD LUCK!
