My 2000 Jetta takes a long time to change gears say I push the gas it goes but it takes a long time to change so when that happens I slow down and let it catch up I dont know what it is tho you guys might know what is wrong?

Hi there,

This sounds like a pressure or valving problem with in the transmission, you should go get a trans test done by a qualified trans tech as they will have all the specialist equipment to preform this test.
