Car was running then shut off at a stop light few days ago. Since then it will turn over but will not run. Fuel pump is working. It did occasionally spit and sputter and backfire kind of when it ran. Any good ideas?

Also, when the car got up to operator temperature it didn't want to shift, no pull from take off just would act like it was slipping badly. However if you manipulate down shifted or up-shifted according to pull, torque or needed rpm's/quick get out the way, it would do just fine. Any suggestions? My thought is the filter in transmission.

Good afternoon,

I would start by checking the actual fuel pressure to be sure the pump is sending the correct pressure.

I would also check for spark as well.
