Our car had a service a month ago -- replacement of spark plugs, wires and air filter. Just now the car wouldn't start -- lights, air conditioning came on and windows worked, but the motor wouldn't turn over. What could the problem be?

So you have a no crank no start?Have you had the battery tested?Even though you the lights works thats not good enough to say the battery is good. Also did you make sure the battery cables are clean and tight? Also do you have a mulimeter or test light to do some testing?

It turns out that the battery was dead and we needed a new battery. Also, the guy who replaced the battery roadside (AAA) said that the alternator drained at 9.7 -- which indicated that we needed a new alternator.
Thanks for the information -- it helped a lot to know what to ask and what to look for.
