My daughter in law's car shoots transmission fluid out of the dipstick after she has ran it for twenty to thirty minutes. We are afraid it will catch fire with her and her son in the car, so it is parked right now. Any ideas? Thank you for your help.

Sure two things can make this happen. First the transmission is overfilled which can cause this so I would check the level first. Next is the vent for the transmission is plugged somehow which is located near the top of the transmission a small tube open to the atmosphere.

Here is a guide to help you check the level:

Please let us know what you find.
