2000 Ford Taurus blew transmission fluid out fill tube

This has only happened once. First thing in the morning when I placed the car in reverse it felt like the parking brake was on. I backed the car about 30 feet and parked. When I looked under the car It had blown about a quart of transmission fluid out of the filler tube.
It does not normally leak fluid. There was no fluid on the drive until the car was parked after backing up. The fluid and filter were changed about 35,000 miles ago. It is a 2000 Ford Taurus with the DOHC engine. It has about 74,000 miles on it. I think it came from the filler tube because the dip stick was blown out of the tube about two inches.

Thanks for any ideas you may have.

Maybe its overfill-check where the level is and if need be drain it to the cold mark-then start from there while engine running till you get up to warm mark level.
