Detecting clutch problems

I own a Toyota mini-truck 4x4 - 2003, 3.0 turbo diesel, non-intercooled, 55000 miles

I have been hearing a ticking noise when the clutch is released full while in gear or in neutral. Is this the sign of clutch failure? If so, do I need to replace the clutch disc, flywheel, pressure plate and throw-out/release bearing or can I replace individual components?

Any help would be great, Thanks

Ticking noise while clutch is fully release-something in there is on its way out-you need a clutch assy kit.

You sure its coming from the clutch assy area?

Yes. The noise sounds like its comming from inside the bellhousing area. Ive checked it while in neutral. But is even more prevalent when cruising along slowly in 3rd or 4th. I`m sure its there for the other gears but I cant hear it clearly because of the engine and road noise on 1st and 2nd and 5th
