My truck is having trouble shifting into 1st 2nd and reverse. The trans and clutch were replaced about three years ago, so I don't think that is the issue. I've taken it to a mechanic and he said he thought it was the hydraulics. So he replaced the master and slave cylinder. He then said the clutch was stuck against the flywheel, so I gave hime the go ahead to take the trans out and release and fix that and then see if the clutch needed to be replaced as well, the clutch didn't so that is good. BUT NOW he has found that the clutch and brake pedal bracket is cracked and flexing and he says the flexing is whats keeping the clutch from opening up all the way. Does this sound legitimate or am I being had?

The only way to fing out is to look under the dash for yourself. He was piling it on really thick with the"stuck against the flywheel" line. Ive never heard that one before. Sounds like the pedal assembly may have been the problem, but if it only has trouble going into 1, 2, and reverse, it may be an issue in the trans, even though it was done before. The clutch doesnt care which gear you are shifting in or out of, it works or it doesnt
