Engine Performance problem
1997 Toyota 4Runner Two Wheel Drive Automatic 135, 00 miles

I just recently had a repair. First Shop said it was my
drive shaft I needed to replace it. Second shop who
we knew said it was u joints. Replaced both u joints.
Commmute 60 miles day 40 miles of this on interstate.
Going over 60 MPH - my truck has a slight vibration and my motor seems like its running rough, but only over 60. In normal traffic no problem. I have a total tune up down a year ago, new tires, new u joints, new brakes all in the last year. The only problem I know of is I have a powered antenna that should go up and down when turning engine on and off if the radio is playing. For some reason can't figure out why, pulled in my garage turned motor off, antenna
when down. Next morning turn engine on and antenna does not go up or down, but you can hear the noise that it makes when it goes up and down, but nothing happens. This happened about 2 months ago. My biggest problem is I am just looking for an honest mechanic, with an honest answer of what it might be, my husband can work on
vehicles etc. But will not mess with mine because of all the sensors, alarm system etc. Hes use to working on his 92 S-10 Tahoe. Can anyone please give me an idea on what I need to do next.

Hi shayspenc,

The vibration at over 60 mph is most probably due to unbalanced U-joints on the propeller shaft.

The antenna motor retractable aerial cable is most probably broken. You need to get the motor out to replace the aerial cable.
