Steering wheel right control button that controls the driver side display menu stopped working?

I did a replacement Front dash aftermarket radio double din with the proper harness. I replaced the front side speaker. Controls were fine until one week after the control buttons stopped working. I did not mess with any of the wires besides installing the stereo wire harness to connect to the radio harness.

Chances are the aftermarket wiring or radio have gone bad; the quality of aftermarket radios is not good in most cases. I would try and replace everything under the assumption of the product being defective. Here are the radio wiring diagrams and a guide on how to check the wiring in the images below.

The other option is the spiral wire behind the steering wheel has gone bad. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
