Moving gears is slipping off sometimes when I put it in park

The stick connected to the shifter that is responsible for moving gears is slipping off sometimes when I put it in park. I can put back manually to shift truck, but why’d this happen so suddenly and how can I fix?

So I am sure you can just replace the shifter handle but just to make sure we understand what is happening, can you get a picture of what is happening? I am not sure if the entire stalk is coming out of just the handle part at the end. If we get a picture, I am sure we can come up with a way to repair it. Here are the instructions for replacing the shifter able in the diagrams below. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
